Case Highlight #1
Patient History & Treatment Goals
This patient is a 69 year old female that presented with facial incisal composite restorations that had been in place for over 10 years. Her goals were to improve her smile by creating brighter teeth without a “restored” appearance. She also wanted to build out her buccal corridor to create a fuller looking smile.
To accomplish her goals, Dr. Bonk treatment planned full coverage restorations from #3-14 and #20-29. The case will be executed in two phases, with the upper recently restored and highlighted here.
Dr. Bonk made provisional restorations from her wax-up to test both esthetics and function. The lower teeth were adjusted to accommodate the new changes as they have not yet been prepared.
Additionally, a custom incisal guide table was sent to the laboratory in order to appropriately replicate the anterior guidance that was worked out in the provisionals.
In order to maximize strength and esthetics and in collaboration with Dr. Bonk, we decided to use layered e.max for the definitive restorations.
The patient was absolutely thrilled with the transformation! Next, the lower arch will be prepared, provisionalized and restored. We will share an update of the completed case in Part II of our highlight.
